This model was always front-wheel drive except in his version with petrol engine V8, which was rear-wheel drive.

The Rover 75 suffered a great influence from BMW, not as well in the development of the same, which was in its entirety managed by Rover, if not in the supply of components, production and completion, where BMW has a wide participation, as for example in the use of mechanical elements such as the engine block of the 320d BMW E46, The integrated system of GPS radio comes from the BMW 3 Series E46 as well as the system Canbus original BMW to which they were connected to all the electronic elements.
The structural design of the Rover 75, contrary to the beliefs are not derived from the BMW 5-series, if not of a project abandoned by BMW for a vehicle front-wheel-drive. The centre tunnel which is not occupied by the transmission, was kept in order to provide more stiffness to the chassis. This project was later used to launch the new Mini in 2001.
This model came with three different finishes, namely: Classic, Club and Connoisseur, with a few finishes with a few extras of high-end, taking into account the era in which he came out the model to the market, the finishes of most high-end included climate control, and a multi-function display that provides the driver with complete information about the state of each one of the systems in the vehicle.
The Rover 75 came out to the market with several power options, namely: three motores2 of gasoline (1.8 L 4-cylinder, 2-liter V6 and 2.5 L V6 - 120 HP to 177 HP) and diesel (2 liter 115 HP and 135 HP)
