The Renault Megane is a vehicle of the C-segment manufactured by the French firm Renault.

In 2002, was presented to the public the second generation, a redesigned version that was awarded the title of Car of the Year in Europe in 2003.

The Renault Megane (2002 – 2009) was the first model in the segment to get five stars in the proof-of-protection to adults in crashes of EuroNCAP.

This vehicle had a variant convertible called ‘Megane CC’ that had a roof folding of metal and glass instead of canvas.

VERSIONS OF THE RENAULT MEGANE (2002 – 2009)

The Renault Megane (2002 – 2009) had two versions available: Renault Megane RS, Renault Megane GT.

The Renault Megane RS or also called Renault Sport, is the most powerful version in the range. Your body does not change much compared to the rest of the variants Megane, being the most remarkable bumper lower, dual exhaust, and fog lamps located outside the entrance of air.

The Renault Megane GT is a sports version presented in 2006 as an alternative to the Megane RS. This version is equipped with a chassis that is more sporty and close to the ground, resulting in greater adhesion to the road.

The Renault Megane (2002 – 2009) had available several engines to choose from.

In Phase I (2002 – 2006) had five petrol engines and two diesel:

- Fuel:

• 1.4 16v 80 HP or 98 HP with a manual gearbox 5-speed.

• 1.6 16v 115 HP with gearbox 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

• 2.0 16v 135 HP with gearbox 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

• 2.0 T (GT) 165 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

• 2.0 T (RS) 225 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

- Diesel:

• 1.5 dCi 82 CV, 86 BHP or 101 HP with gearbox 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic (only available in 101 HP). It also has an engine is available with 105 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

• 1.9 dCi 120 BHP or 131 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

In Phase II (2006 – 2009) had seven petrol engines and four diesel:

- Fuel:

• 1.4 16v 98 HP with a manual gearbox 5-speed.

• 1.6 16v 110 HP with gearbox 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

• 2.0 16v 145 HP with gearbox 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

• 2.0 T (GT) of 163 BHP with manual gearbox 6-speed.

• 2.0 T (RS) 225 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

• 2.0 T (R26) of 230 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

• 2.0 T (R26R) of 230 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

- Diesel:

• 1.5 dCi 85 HP with a manual gearbox 5-speed, or 105 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

• 1.9 dCi 131 BHP) gearbox 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

• 2.0 dCi 150 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.

• 2.0 dCi (RS) 175 HP with a manual gearbox 6-speed.
