HISTORY OF THE RENAULT ESPACE 3 (1997 – 2002)

The Renault Espace is a car minivan segment D manufactured by the French car firm Renault since 1984. This vehicle takes you behind your back five generations that came in, in a progressive manner, in 1984, 1991, 1998, 2002 and 2015.

The Espace is considered the first minivan in the history, to exist in their latest generations versions long so-called ‘Grand Espace’.

The Renault Espace 3 belongs to the third generation of the Espace. This generation was launched in the year 1997.

DESIGN OF THE RENAULT ESPACE 3 (1997 – 2002)

The Renault Espace 3 (1997 – 2002) differed from the other generations for the interior, as it had a finish futuristic, incorporating a digital speedometer in its central part.

In the third generation was launched a version called ‘Grand Espace’ that had the ability to carry seven passengers.

THE ENGINE OF RENAULT ESPACE 3 (1997 – 2002)

The Renault Espace 3 account with various engines available in both petrol as well as diesel, depending on their phases. In phase I has available three petrol engines and two diesel, and in phase II, two petrol engines and two diesel.

Phase I (1997-2002):

- Fuel:

• 2.0 115 HP with gearbox 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

• 2.0 16v 140 HP with gearbox 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

• 3.0 190 HP with gear box 4-speed automatic.

- Diesel:

• 1.9 dTi 98 BHP manual gearbox 5-speed.

• 2.2 dT 115 HP with a manual gearbox 5-speed.

Phase II (2000-2003):

- Fuel:

• 2.0 16v 140 HP with gearbox 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

• 3.0 190 HP with gear box 4-speed automatic.

- Diesel:

• 1.9 dTi 98 BHP manual gearbox 5-speed.

• 2.2 dCi 115 HP and 130 HP with a manual gearbox 5-speed.
